We live in a digital era where technology is advancing rapidly, and artificial intelligence (AI) is taking center stage. With the ability to create images and videos, deepfake content is flooding the internet and circulating on social media, making it harder than ever to trust what we see and hear. These sophisticated video and audio manipulations are becoming an increasing concern because AI makes them more realistic and difficult to detect. And while not all AI-generated content is created with malicious intent, the ability to determine whether a video is real or fake helps users make smart and well-informed decisions.
That’s why McAfee and Lenovo have teamed up to create the world’s first automatic AI-powered deepfake detector, exclusively available on select new Lenovo AI computers.
What is the McAfee® Deepfake Detector?
The McAfee® Deepfake Detector alerts users within seconds if it detects AI-generated audio in a video, helping them distinguish between real and fake content.
McAfee’s powerful AI technology, designed with privacy in mind, provides users with advanced AI detection, boasting a 96% accuracy rate to combat the rise of scams, forgeries, and AI-generated disinformation.
Now available exclusively on select Lenovo AI computers, the McAfee Deepfake Detector utilizes a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) to enhance performance while protecting privacy by processing video data directly on the device.
“Knowledge is power, and this has never been truer than in today’s AI-driven world,” said Roma Majumder, Senior Vice President of Product at McAfee. “No more wondering if that investment scheme by Warren Buffett is legitimate, if Taylor Swift really wants to gift fans cookware, or if a politician actually said those words. With the McAfee Deepfake Detector, you get answers automatically within seconds.”
“The collaboration between Lenovo and McAfee combines the unique expertise of two global leaders to deliver innovative solutions that give users greater confidence in the content they consume online,” said Igor Bergman, Vice President of Lenovo Cloud and Software, Intelligent Devices Group. “Data shows that nearly two-thirds of people (64%) are more concerned about deepfake content now than they were a year ago. Lenovo’s expertise as a leader in end-to-end technology solutions and McAfee’s unparalleled experience in AI-powered online protection complement each other, optimizing both hardware and software capabilities for the benefit of the user.”
“Artificial intelligence and all the possibilities it brings are still not fully understood by users. While AI is mostly used for good, it can also contribute to misinformation and deception. The ability to recognize fake content is crucial today, and this innovation is a step forward in ensuring users can distinguish reality from fabrication. At AITONIX, we always strive to bring the latest technologies and innovations to the Macedonian market. Therefore, we expect the new AI-powered Lenovo computers to be available in our region soon,” said Kiril Smilevski, Commercial Director of AITONIX.
The McAfee® Deepfake Detector is currently available for detecting English-language content on select new Lenovo AI computers. It is not yet available in our region but is expected to arrive soon.
